In the project 'Local Governance Exchange Rhineland-Palatinate – Rwanda', the first networking meetings between the participating actors from Rwanda and Rhineland-Palatinate have now taken place. In May the participants from the Rwandan districts and institutions met in Kigali to update each other on their activities and gain fresh ideas and suggestions for working with their partners. The Rwandan side can now look back on just under a year of cooperation. A delegation from Rhineland-Palatinate visited their partner districts in July 2018.
Just a few weeks after the meeting in Kigali the municipalities and institutions from Rhineland-Palatinate taking part in the project also held their first networking meeting. This two-day event was hosted by the School of Public Administration in Mayen. Together with Engagement Global's Service Agency Communities in One World and the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of the Interior and Sport, the organisers clearly enjoyed discussing with the project participants the progress they had made in cooperation with their respective partner district or partner institution in Rwanda.
