Cities are playing an increasingly important role in international contexts. They work together in partnerships and cooperations, network internationally and exchange knowledge and expertise. They make a key contribution to international understanding, peacekeeping and joint work on global goals. This commitment is further promoted by the 'Urban Diplomacy Exchange' project and contributes in particular to Goals 11 (sustainable cities and communities), 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions) and 17 (partnerships to achieve the goals) of the 2030 Agenda.
'Urban Diplomacy Exchange' is implemented by the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) of Engagement Global in cooperation with the Association of German Cities and funded by the Federal Foreign Office.
The new website of the Urban Diplomacy Exchange project is now live. It raises awareness of the importance of city diplomacy and provides relevant contributions and background information related to urban diplomacy issues and the 2030 Agenda.
