The virtual partnership conference for cities from Germany and the USA in May 2022 will address topics of the 2030 Agenda, with focus on good urban governance, sustainable urban development, and sustainable mobility and energy. Projects from U.S. and German cities will be presented on each focus topic. In addition, some cities will present their specific challenges to the focus topics. Peer-to-peer consultations at the conference may inspire new solutions and other perspectives.
Municipal partnerships for more city diplomacy
The virtual conference offers U.S.-German municipal partnerships, as well as cities interested in working together, the opportunity for technical exchange on issues related to the 2030 Agenda.
The partnership conference will take place on Monday, May 16 and Thursday, May 19, 2022. Interested cities are invited to register with with administrative staff from at least two departments (e.g., Building Department, Climate and Environment, Transportation, Sustainability, Office of Social Affairs, Office of International Affairs).
Networking with experts from other cities
Overall, the participants of the conference will get new ideas and at the same time thay have the opportunity to network with experts from their partner city and cities working on similar issues. The event, which will take place over two half days, will be framed by a keynote speech from UN-Habitat, information on the 2030 Agenda and references to the role of cities in the context of city diplomacy.
