This international conference of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) of Engagement Global, PLATFORMA - European network of cities and regions and international associations, and the Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO), will be digitally transferred live from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Berlin.
It will focus on local commitment to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the conference municipalities will present how they succeeded in anchoring the SDGs in their everyday municipal life. Moreover the conference aims to showcase how challenges in implementing the SDGs can be approached within the framework of municipal partnerships. Inputs, discussion rounds, and workshops will provide an opportunity for intermunicipal exchange.
The conference is primarily aimed at representatives of German and European municipalities and partner municipalities from countries of the Global South who have first-hand experience and/or an interest in implementing the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. The conference language will be English with interpretation in German and French.
