Contrary to the original plan, the sharing of expertise was not realised in Nuremberg, but in Nablus – in a two-day training course for municipal photovoltaic specialists from the Palestinian territories, held by the Nuremberg engineer Klaus Richter. The local event made it possible to reach a much larger number of experts – almost 50 employees from nine different municipalities took part.
The photovoltaic system has an output of 120 kW and comprises 380 modules. It is the largest photovoltaic system connected to the grid in the area supplied by the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO). The electricity generated is mainly consumed in the sewage treatment plant itself, and helps to significantly reduce energy costs for Nablus Municipality.
