Municipal Climate Partnerships project hosts COP26 side event

Bonn, 7 December 2021. How can we support municipalities and countries in the Global South in achieving their climate goals? This question was addressed at a side event hosted by our Municipal Climate Partnerships on November 4, 2021, at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26). The panel discussion also focused on the link between climate change and biodiversity. The livestream video of the side event from the German Climate Pavilion at COP26 is now available.

'Storytelling – An ancient tradition'

Online, 18 Mai 2021. One of the oldest traditions of human learning and collective knowledge transfer is storytelling. Our Third Conference of Partnerships with Asia from 1-3 March 2021 was all about storytelling and interactive learning. Find out below how this creative method can be used for online events, and why stories enable a particularly enriching dialogue.

Workshop: biodiversity and climate change

Bonn, 20 April 2021. The second workshop of the Service Agency and LAG21 NRW to mark the 10th anniversary of Municipal Climate Partnerships explored the topic of biodiversity and climate change. Thanks to the participation of top-level German and international experts, this workshop succeeded in formulating new approaches to the search for intelligent solutions for preserving and regaining biodiversity within municipalities.

Expert exchange on vaccination management

Bonn, 8 April 2021. Connective Cities hosted a virtual response dialogue on Covid-19 vaccination and communication strategies, attended by eight municipalities and two municipal associations from Germany, Israel, Colombia, Serbia and Togo. The municipal representatives shared their experiences and worked out solutions together for the best possible vaccination management.

Documentation about first UNSSC Summer Academy

Bonn, 24 February 2021. For five days in August 2020, 117 participants from 52 countries exchanged ideas and information on the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations Summer Academy event, which – due to known circumstances – was held online for the first time. About the UNSCC Summer Academy there is actually published a documentation.
