„Ideas are flowing“ - Missions from Rwanda to Rhineland-Palatinate

Bonn, 4th December. Representatives from the Rwandan districts of Karongi and Nyamagabe visited their partner municipalities Bad Kreuznach and Birkenfeld last week. Action plans worked out together will consolidate the future cooperation within the "Local Governance Exchange" project between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda.

A Territorial Approach to the SDGs - OECD Workshop in Bonn

Bonn, 28th November. In cooperation with the Service Agency, the City of Bonn is taking part in an OECD pilot project to localise the Sustainable Development Goals. From 21 to 23 November, representatives from the OECD, the Japanese City of Kitakyushu and the Federal City of Bonn met for a peer-to-peer workshop to exchange ideas and experiences.

First International Sister Cities Conference in the City of Freiburg

Bonn, 7th November. The city of Freiburg in cooperation with the SKEW invited its sister cities to discuss the joint implementation of the Agenda 2030 during the ‘International Sister Cities Conference’. Out of twelve sister cities of Freiburg, eleven attended the conference.

Successful 'International SDG Expert Conference'

Bonn, 29th October. The city of Mannheim hosted the ‘International SDG Expert Conference’ as part of the mission statement ‘Mannheim 2030 – implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals’ supported by the Service Agency Communities in One World.

Kick-off mission to Rwanda a success

Bonn, 6th August. Municipal delegates from Rhineland-Palatinate got to know their Rwandan counterparts. During visits to their partner districts they took the opportunity to discuss in detail projects to improve local governance and to implement the 2030 Agenda.

Bonn, 28th May. For the fifth time, municipalities taking part in the project 'Municipal Climate Partnerships' presented their joint programmes of action for climate change mitigation and adaptation at an international workshop.

Bonn, 15th May. Two representatives from local governance institutions in Rwanda got to know their partners in Rhineland-Palatinate during an information-sharing visit from 14 to 21 April.

Inclusive Cities: towards an urban and social development for all

Bonn, 12th April. The international exchange platform Connective Cities invites municipal practitioners to the Dialogue Event on Inclusive cities. The event will be held in Bonn, Germany from 7 to 9 May 2018.

Bonn, 22nd March. Connective Cities - the International Community of Practice for Sustainable Urban Development - organized two events during the World Urban Forum (WUF9) in Kuala Lumpur.

The 2030 Agenda comes to life in municipal partnerships

Bonn, 20th February 2018. Twelve municipalities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Serbia met in Sarajewo from 21 to 22 November and reached a positive interim assessment of their partnerships with German municipalities for sustainability.
