5th Conference of Partnerships between German and African Municipalities in Dresden
Creating sustainable digitalisation together
Every three years, municipal actors from African and German municipalities that are linked though partnerships have the opportunity to come together at the 'Conference of Partnerships between German and African Municipalities' in Germany. In addition to meetings and exchanges, the conference also brings participants up to date with the latest information on municipal partnership work. Everyone involved benefits from the dialogue of partnerships between Germany and Africa, because many global challenges can be tackled together at the local level. Municipal actors can jointly initiate and develop strategies to address many thematic areas of municipal practice. Moreover, as well as extending their expertise, they can also develop their intercultural competences. What is special about this conference format is that – with the support of the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) – you will have the opportunity to (i) participate together as a partnership in Germany, and (ii) further develop your project ideas at a pre- or post-conference working meeting.
Partnership Conference 2022!
Together with the municipal partnership Dresden-Brazzaville, the Service Agency organised the 5th Conference of Partnerships between German and African Municipalities. The conference took place in Dresden from 19 to 22 September 2022. Main focus was the topic of sustainable digitalisation in municipalities. The Germany-wide partnership conference is primarily aimed at delegates from German municipalities and their partner municipalities in Africa. Other committed actors, such as migrant and civil society groups who are involved in shaping the municipal partnership, were also invited.
